Results – Category 7

The Results category examines a company’s performance and improvement in all key areas – product outcomes, customer-focused outcomes, financial and market outcomes, workforce-focused outcomes, process effectiveness outcomes and leadership outcomes. Performance levels are examined relative to those of competitors and other organizations with similar product offerings. Not surprisingly, results achieved and reported in Category 7 represent 45% of the total score in the Baldrige quality award evaluation process!

Having clear visibility into results helps D.J. Simmons move quickly to seize opportunities and take corrective actions. As a passionate believer in the performance excellence process, Simmons diligently measures its performance in each of the six categories above. Key requirements, developed around the six key processes outlined in Category 6, are at the heart of the performance measurement system.

Simmons continues to refine its key requirements and associated key performance indicators for each of its stakeholders. Because it is an "open-book" company, employees have a much deeper insight into performance than is typically found in a company not pursuing the journey to performance excellence.
